The Novo Nordisk New Jersey Marathon and Half Marathon is run along the flat blacktop along the Jersey Shore and surrounding communities. Aside from a few small canal bridges to warm your legs up a bit, this is among the flattest courses in the country.

Whether it’s a sub-3 marathon, a new PR or you just need someone to get you to the finish line, our pace team has you covered. Our pacers cover a variety of paces for both the full and half marathon. Our fastest marathon pace team will bring you to the finish line in 2:55 (1:30 for the Half) and up to 5:30 (2:30 for the Half).



Have we mentioned the course is flat? In addition to virtually no net elevation change, the course features long stretches of straight running, allowing you to focus on your pace and not on navigating hundreds of tangents.


Weather down the shore can be unpredictable in April but temperatures are generally quite cool with highs in the low 60s and lows near the upper 40s, perfect temperatures for shaving minutes off your time.

Saturday 5K

Get your race weekend started with a 5K on Saturday to help you shake out your legs and familiarize yourself with the finish section of the Marathon and Half Marathon course. Runners who do both the RWJBarnabas Health 5K and any Sunday distance race, will earn our special limited edition Gold (Half or Relay) or Platinum (Marathon) challenge medal.

Local lodging partners and Parking at the start

There’s no need to park miles away from the start on race day! We have free parking at the start and plenty of hotel partners in the area so you can get a good night’s rest and get to the race start with ease (Note- We still recommend you still plan ample time to arrive to the start area parking lot!).
